Privacy Policy

Top Notch is a voice-following teleprompter for iOS and macOS. We built it to respect your privacy: the app works almost entirely on your device, and we keep data collection to the absolute minimum.

What we collect

Top Notch does not require an account and does not collect personal information. In normal use, your scripts, settings, and recordings never leave your device.

Microphone

The voice-follow feature listens to your microphone to detect when you are speaking and pace your script. This audio is processed live, on your device, only while you choose to enable voice-follow. It is never recorded, stored, or transmitted to us or any third party.

Camera & photos

Record mode uses your camera so you can read while filming. Any video you record is saved directly to your own photo library on your device. We never receive or have access to your camera feed or your videos.

Licensing

If you purchase a license, the purchase and verification are handled by our payment provider (Gumroad). We do not store your payment details. Please review Gumroad's privacy policy for how they process that transaction.

Analytics

Top Notch does not include third-party advertising or tracking SDKs. Apple may provide us with aggregate, anonymized download and crash statistics through App Store Connect; this data cannot be used to identify you.

Children

Top Notch is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date.
